MORE THAN A GAME…

Mahjong is more than just a game. One of the things we love most about Mahjong is that you can come to an event by yourself, immediately feel welcomed, and leave with new friends. We’ve built meaningful friendships through the game, and we want to share that experience with others.

HOW IT STARTED

Our love for Mahj started with four friends rotating apartments, trying new takeout spots, and figuring out the game together. What began as an excuse to connect regularly quickly became something we looked forward to each week. Before long, we were bringing our mahjong sets to local bars around Chicago, where a simple question about the game turned into a conversation and a new friendship. These experiences inspired us to create Mahj & Mingle.

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Nikki and Jordan both come from backgrounds in learning and teaching, with Jordan a Doctor of Psychology and Nikki a Doctor of Nursing Practice. We approached mahjong the same way, learning everything we could so we could share it in a way that feels helpful and not overwhelming.
