We’re a Chicago-based community for learning and playing American Mahjong, hosting events across spots around Chicago — including West Loop, West Town, River West, and Bucktown. We offer a welcoming space to gather, connect, and enjoy the game — including beginner 101 lessons, guided play, private parties, corporate events, and resident community experiences.
Q: Where can I get American Mahjong lessons or attend an open play event in Chicago?
We host American Mahjong events across Chicago for every skill level — from Mahjong 101 lessons for beginners to our guided “bridge play” experience, regular open play, and curated social events like brunches and wine tastings. Events run on weekends and weekday evenings and nights.
Q: Do I need to be an expert to join an event?
Not at all — we welcome all players, from those who’ve never touched a tile to seasoned pros. With a variety of events, you’ll find the experience that fits your skill level.
Q: Can I attend an event by myself?
Absolutely — we encourage solo attendees. Mahjong has a natural way of connecting people, and our events are designed as social spaces where it’s easy to meet fellow players in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Q: Do you offer refunds?
Yes, depending on when you cancel:
7+ days before your event: full refund
48 hours–7 days before: credit toward a future booking (valid 90 days)
Less than 48 hours before: no refund or credit, unless we’re able to fill your spot from our waitlist — reach out and we’ll check
No-shows: forfeit the full amount, no exceptions
