Mahj & Mingle Social Club (“Mahj & Mingle,” “we,” “us”), operated by Mahj and Mingle LLC, doing business as Mahj & Mingle Social Club and Mahjong & Mingle Social Club, respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect and use your information when you interact with us in any capacity. Your information may be processed in the United States. Information We Collect When you register for an event or sign up for updates through our website, Squarespace collects information on our behalf, which may include your name, email address, billing address, and payment information. Payment is processed securely through Squarespace Payments or, for certain private events, third-party payment apps at the customer’s choice. We do not store your payment information.

Member Accounts and Community Features

If you create a Mahj & Mingle member account, we may collect your name, email address, account information, and information you choose to provide through member features. This may include posts, replies, participation in community activities, league substitute sign-ups, messages, and other information you submit through our Services. Certain information, such as your name and content you choose to post or share, may be visible to other members. Your email address is not displayed to other members through member features.

Cookies and Website Analytics Our website, hosted on Squarespace, uses cookies to operate the site and analyze traffic. You’ll be shown a cookie banner where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

How We Use Your Information We use your information to process event registrations, manage cancellations and credits, send confirmations and updates, and keep you informed about upcoming events. We may also use your information to create and manage member accounts, operate community and messaging features, facilitate member interactions, provide notifications, maintain the security and integrity of our Services, moderate content and member activity, and respond to support or safety concerns.

Information Sharing We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We use service providers to help operate and provide our Services, including for website hosting, registration, payment processing, account authentication, data storage, communications, analytics, and community features. These service providers may process personal information as necessary to perform services on our behalf.

Data Retention We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our Services, maintain business and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the security and integrity of our Services. Members may contact us to request deletion of their member account and associated personal information, subject to information we may retain as required by law or for legitimate business, security, dispute resolution, or recordkeeping purposes.

Promotional Communications By registering for an event or providing us your email address, you consent to receiving emails from us, including event updates and promotions. You may request to be removed from our email list at any time by emailing hello@mahjongandminglesocialclub.com, or using the unsubscribe link where available.

Your Rights You may have rights under applicable law, depending on your location, to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may exercise these rights by contacting us at hello@mahjongandminglesocialclub.com.

Children’s Privacy Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Photo and Video Consent By attending a Mahj & Mingle event, guests consent to photos or videos being taken and used on our website, social media, or other promotional materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, notify us in advance at hello@mahjongandminglesocialclub.com, or let a staff member know on-site.

Biometric Information Mahj & Mingle does not intentionally collect, capture, or use biometric identifiers (such as facial geometry, fingerprints, or retina scans) as defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). Photos and videos taken at our events are for general promotional purposes only and are not processed through facial recognition or other biometric identification software.
